Our Story
Why we created The Hidden Loop
The Beginning
It began beside the creek
The Hidden Loop began as our family's favourite spot beside Kurinui Creek.
Before there was a cabin here, we'd bring the kids down to this patch of native bush to picnic, swim, and camp under the stars. No big plans. Just creek water, bare feet, and the kind of quiet that makes you realise how fast life usually feels.
Something always shifted when we were here. The kids forgot about screens. Conversations slowed down. Even the adults felt lighter.
We realised this little pocket of bush near Hampden - just minutes from Moeraki - had a way of bringing people back to what matters.
Meet Hanna & Callum
We're Hanna and Callum - farmers, parents, and the hosts behind this creekside cabin in Otago.
Our family farms the surrounding land, and we've always loved the native bush and birdlife along the creek. Creating The Hidden Loop wasn't about building just another place to stay near Moeraki. It was about offering a space for families and friends to reconnect in nature.

The Heart of It
The private bush track - the Loop - became the heart of it all. A simple trail that winds through the trees and circles back, reminding you to slow down.
Why We Share It
We believe good things happen when people unplug
When meals are cooked slowly.
When the only soundtrack is birdsong and the creek moving over stones.
When evenings stretch out beside the fire.
If you leave feeling rested, reconnected, and a little more present than when you arrived, then The Hidden Loop has done its job.
